THERE ARE GIANTS IN THE LAND

This is a report by Gordon “Nachshon” Messick, one of the ten “spies” who journeyed through the land of Israel from 20th day of the Tenth Month through the 2nd day of the Eleventh Month of the year 2003 CE of the Gregorian calendar.

There are, indeed, “giants in the land” and they are our brother Yahudah. They are brave beyond comprehension, resourceful, to the utmost, strong, cautious, but happy people and they are not all against Ephrayim’s return. In fact, all Yahudites long for Ephrayim’s return home. They know we are the arrows for their bows. We are the helpers to develop the land, we are the boost to their economy and maybe, most of all, we are votes in the Knesset to stave off and defeat Muslim control.

Many Yahudites pointed their finger at us and say “no aliyah without conversion” and we rose up equally aggressivesaying we will not return to the land without our Messiah and King, Yahshua, who redeemed us from out of the Gentiles. Without Yahshua, we would not know who we are.

We met Yahudites from every spectrum of belief, from Hassidic Yahudites, who mostly just plain ignored us or gave us disapproving glances, to Hassidim who danced and broke bread with us long into the night at a Havdalah celebration. We met Yahudites, (and every Israeli in Israel is proud to be a Yahudite) who long for our return, but didn’t think we had much of a chance without conversion, to Yahudites who wanted us to come home no matter what we believed. One even said he wanted us to come home and help them, even if we believed in Mickey Mouse.

Most all of the people we met were extremely friendly and appeared to love us as brothers, especially the people living on the front lines in the settlements and kibutzes. Don’t misunderstand the word settlement or Kibutzes many are very large and very modern with populations ranging from under 100 to over 20,000. They are at every stage of development from only a few people and a few caravans, which are approximately 10’X 40’ modular homes, with trees only 3 feet tall to combinations of caravans and nice homes and on up to beautiful homes with all the amenities such as paved streets and sidewalks, big trees, schools, commercial centers, synagogues plus very sturdy steel guarded gates and everything beautifully landscaped, in fact, many visitors have said to the residence of these settlements “how do you find such beautiful parks to build your settlements in and around?

We traveled through the West Bank, Samaria, Tiberius, Hebron, and throughout Jerusalem and surrounding areas and the land is both beautiful and rugged and we can say the same thing for the people. In all of the areas outside of Jerusalem most men carry weapons ranging from pistols, Uzis, to M16’s and they carry them every where they go including into banks and many other places where you wouldn’t think guns would be allowed (by the way, thereis very little crime in these areas where the men carry guns) only acts of terrorism are a constant threat to the people and they need Ephrayim to help them combat and push out these people who perpetrate these acts of terrorism.

We had meetings and planned encounters with over 62 different people, all the way from the Israeli Minister of Tourism, head Rabbi’s of Yeshivas and Torah schools, Rabbi’s and leaders of settlements, common people whoinvited us into their homes and fed us meals and begged us to come home. This trip into the land and was extremely educational and inspirational to a level that is not explainable.
My report to all of Ephrayim and Yahudah in the Diaspora and exile is The land is fruitful, the land is extremely plentiful, and all of Israel wants us back. As I heard or read somewhere, “Israel is not too hard or too poor to come to, but America is too easy and too rich to stay in.” Yahueh will clear the way for us to return, but we must take the first step as Nachshon did when he first stepped into the Red Sea and then after this act of going forward, Yahueh parted the sea for the children of Israel to cross.

Just as the Ephraimite spies reported back to Joshua with the good report, I report to all the house of Joseph and Yehudah, Yahueh will lead us back to the land as followers and keepers of Torah, including Sabbath, Yahueh’s holy days, (not manmade holidays), kosher diet of Torah and as followers and believers of Yahshua our Messiah, King and Redeemer.
